ALPINI

The Adunata Nazionale degli Alpini is the largest and most significant gathering of the Alpini, the elite mountain troops of Italy’s army.

Held annually in various cities across the country, this event brings together thousands of former and current members to honor the history, bravery, and traditions of the Alpini.

Since its inception in 1920, the Adunata Nazionale has become a celebration of Italian patriotism, pride, and camaraderie, drawing participants from all over Italy and beyond.

The event features vibrant parades, emotional ceremonies, and cultural activities that pay tribute to the sacrifices and contributions of the Alpini, who have been integral to Italy’s military history since 1872.

With a sense of unity and shared identity, the Adunata Nazionale degli Alpini is not only a commemoration of past valor but also a gathering that strengthens the bond of friendship and solidarity among all who have served in the Alpine Corps.

Through my lens, I aim to immortalize the deep emotions and significance of this iconic event, focusing on the faces of the participants – men and women who carry with them a history of valor, sacrifice, and unwavering patriotism.

Each image tells a story, revealing the pride, joy, and camaraderie shared by those who gather to honor their heritage.

From the solemn moments of reflection during the ceremonies to the vibrant expressions of happiness and solidarity, my project seeks to highlight the powerful connection between the past and present, the personal and the collective.

This collection of photographs is a tribute to the enduring spirit of the Alpini and the strength of Italian identity, showcasing the people who live and breathe the history of this cherished tradition.
